Celestain designs and manufactures Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for embedded system testing. ATE software is generated from the Celestain G-TAP software platform. Celestain ATEs can function in semi-automation to full automation modes. Our ATEs are graded for safety & mission critical real-time systems.

The purpose of the ATE is to generate automation tests and execute them. Celestain ATE is customizable for a range of systems and different test environments. The System under Test (SuT) and its interfacing systems can be real or they can be simulated in the ATE. ATE simulations have 'system-like' GUIs to receive inputs and display outputs.

A set of configuration generators are programmed for the specific systems architecture, system-under-test, its interfaces, test environment and test generation method. The configuration files are complied with the G-TAP core to generate the ATE software.

ATE software enables the development of automation test scripts via its GUIs. The automated tests are run in the ATE by the Test Manager. ATE Test Engine has sequencer, debugger and batch execution tools to enrich the execution environment for development & production testing.

ATE software instance can be generated for multiple equipment. Users can select one or more equipment within the licensed range. Celestain ATE design simplifies the testing phase with flexible features required by the customers. Please refer to the G-TAP technical description for more details on the ATE features.

Advantageous Features of Celestain ATE

Return on Investment

Celestain ATE is a users configurable software system. Users can configure the ATE for testing a range of products. Customers achieve higher ROI with minimal investment and inventory types.

Reuse and Multivendor Equipment Support

Any test environment can be connected to the ATE and configured. Celestain ATE supports a wide range of test instrumentation. Customers can reuse the existing lab instrumentation or can opt for any make of the instrumentation. This feature enables multivendor lab instrumentation support.

Early Product Validation

Celestain ATE can simulate the System Under Test from its specifications. This feature is advantageous to product development companies. Product requirements can be validated in the early phase of the development cycle.

Economic Test Environment Setup

Interface systems of the SuT can be simulated by the Celestain ATE from the Interface Requirement Specifications. This feature enables economic, flexible and easier in test environment setup.

Compact Size and Efficiency

The ATE can be configured to have simulated Control Panels. The size of the ATE becomes very compact and portable. Simulated Control Panels increases the degree of automation and improves the test execution efficiency.

Reliability and Maintainability

Celestain ATE can be configured for switched signal and power connectivity. This flexible connectivity eliminates the need of permanent point-to-point wired connections. The size of the ATE is compacted with fewer electrical harness. This feature improves the reliability, maintainability and reuse of the test environment.

Interchangeable Inventory

Celestain ATE configuration has Multi-Interface Programmable Data Acquisition & Control (DAC) hardware. DAC is interchangeable across sensors, buses, slots and ATEs. This feature minimizes the inventory types.

Third-Party Tool Support

Celestain ATE can be configured to integrate third-party automation tools. The customer saves from the reuse of previously developed test artefacts form the third-party tools.

Production Batch Testing

Celestain ATE can test any number of instances the SuT simultaneously in the batch mode. Celestain ATE is usable in the development & production phases of the life-cycle.

Minimal Training Effort

Celestain ATE can be configured to have ‘system-like’ user interfaces. Minimal training is required for operating and maintaining the ATE.

Automation Test Generation

Celestain ATE generates Automation Test Scripts. Test engineer needs to execute the test cases in the ‘system-like’ GUIs to generate the test scripts. The test automation tasks in Celestain ATE does not require software scripting skills.

Tool Qualification Support

Celestain ATE can be qualified for aerospace system/software verification & validation (DO-178C and DO-330). A review aid (for the scope of automated verification tasks) is supplied as an alternative to qualification.

Optimal Investment

The one-time investment in Celestain ATE, with all the above recurring manifold benefits, is comparable to the investment in an ordinary ATE.
